HighLevel Managed Agents: the new path for autonomous CRM agents

Managed Agents—formerly Super Agents—are now HighLevel’s recommended experience for creating new agents that act on CRM events and business instructions.

Fact-check date: September 13, 2026

HighLevel renamed Super Agents to Managed Agents. Its September 2026 documentation says Managed Agents are the recommended experience for new agent creation; the older flow-based Agent Studio remains available for existing agents.

What Managed Agents do

Managed Agents are built by describing the automation goal in natural language. HighLevel’s current documentation positions them as intelligent CRM agents that can connect to Knowledge Bases, use CRM actions and run from events or schedules.

Managed Agents vs Conversation AI vs Ask AI

ProductWho initiates itTypical job
Managed AgentsEvents, schedules or an agent sessionAutonomous CRM tasks and multi-step business work
Conversation AICustomer conversationRespond, qualify, answer and book
Ask AILogged-in HighLevel userCopilot for content, information and supported platform actions

Current usage model

HighLevel’s AI pricing page currently says Managed Agents receive 100 runs per month on AI Employee Growth and 1,000 runs per month on AI Employee Unlimited, while Pay-Per-Use meters token consumption. It also documents 30 free test runs per month. A “run” is one agent execution, with counting depending on whether the invocation is a chat session, event or scheduled trigger.

Good use cases

  • React to a CRM event and perform a sequence of approved actions.
  • Use a Knowledge Base to interpret business rules before acting.
  • Prepare or execute repetitive operational tasks from a schedule.
  • Coordinate CRM work that would otherwise require several manual workflow branches.

Why this matters for buyers

If you are comparing older HighLevel tutorials, the product names can be confusing. Do not assume that every “Agent Studio” walkthrough describes the current recommended creation path. For a new deployment, start with Managed Agents in the account experience available to you; use the Agent Studio guide mainly to understand existing flow-based agents.
